How much does a home solar system cost?
It depends on your roof and how much power you use. Most of our homes choose 5–8 kW systems. After your free roof check you get one fixed price in writing, and the estimator above gives a rough idea first.
Will solar work on my roof?
South, east and west roofs all work well, and many shaded roofs still make sense. We check the angle, shade and condition of your roof before we quote, and tell you honestly if it isn’t a good fit.
What happens on cloudy days or at night?
Panels still produce on cloudy days, just less. At night you use power from the grid as normal, or from a home battery if you have one. You never have to think about switching.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are done in one day, larger systems in two. From signing to switch-on usually takes 4–6 weeks, mostly waiting for permits and power-company paperwork, which we handle.
What does the 25-year warranty cover?
Our example warranty covers the panels, their output and our workmanship for 25 years, and the inverter for 12 years. Your quote lists the exact cover for your system.
Do I need to clean or maintain the panels?
Very little. Rain does most of the cleaning. We recommend a quick yearly check, and our monitoring alerts us if a panel stops performing as expected.
What if I move house?
Owned systems usually stay with the home and can make it more attractive to buyers. With a finance plan or lease, the agreement can often be transferred to the new owner.
